George Gibeily, MD, FACS has been a medical officer Center of devices and radiologic health, Division of surgical devices with FDA for over 5 years. He provides medical consultation for clearance of hernia mesh devices using real world clinical evidence, preclinical and mesh performance data in support of regulatory decisions on mesh devices. As an ex –officio member of the Americas Hernia Society Quality Consortium he is able to communicate with and acquire perspective on issues related to hernia mesh devices from all stake holders involved. Dr. Gibeily has over 30 years of experience in general and minimally invasive surgery and is boarded in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is an Assistant professor of Surgery at The George Washington University School of Medicine and The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
